Herefordshire Aero Club
Based at Shobdon Airfield, near Leominster.
We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and are close to the Welsh hills. We are the only licenced airfield in Herefordshire. We enjoy a vibrant, friendly club, with great food, great flying and maintenance facilities as well as the benefit of being unimpeded by controlled airspace restrictions.
Whether you live in Herefordshire, or are just enjoying a break or a visit to friends, trying your hand at flying couldn’t be simpler. Herefordshire Aeroclub is open 7 days a week and has full time qualified instructors. The aeroplane generally used for training is the Cessna 152, although a Piper PA28 is also available.
There are a variety of choices ranging from trial flights, gaining your pilots licence, residential courses are available with accommodation on site or at local Bed & Breakfasts – there is also a restaurant and bar on the airfield. If you already hold your Pilots license but would like to try something different we can offer further training. There are also Glider, Microlight & Helicopter facilties on the Airfield.
For the non aviators the Aeroclub is a relaxing place to spend time with your friends and Family, whilst watching the airbourne activities.
